Open inline taping system with electrostatic charge reduces cost

The aim of Simco’s newly developed open inline taping system with electrostatic charge is to reduce the cost of the complete winding process by minimizing interruptions in the winding process, by protecting the material being wound from build-up of residue and by reducing the footprint of the winding system. An electrostatic charge is applied to the tape and it sticks temporarily to the surface of the finished roll. The roll turns on and is wrapped by the tape. Once the roll is wrapped, the tape can be welded without causing damage (glue marking) to the finished roll.
